The 7th European Youth Entrepreneurship Conference (EYEC) #scaleupEurope goal is to leverage on the momentum built as a result of the previous conferences in Thessaloniki, Budapest, Katowice, London, Rome and Athens to update the 2017-18 plan of action and continued revamping of Yes for Europe, making sure that Young Entrepreneurs in Europe are well connected and have a strong, collective voice.

Stockholm is one of the major hub of tech startups in Europe. The Swedish capital has produced several of Europe’s biggest digital companies such as SpotifyKing (creators of Candy Crush) and Mojang (creators of Minecraft).

Moreover, it is the European city leader on many measures of digital infrastructure: it has the highest penetration of residential broadband, the highest percentage of fibre broadband connection in Europe and reports a greater proportion of ICT-specialist users in the total economy than any other country in the OECD. The population also have strong English language skills. It is vibrant and dynamic city – a perfect place for young Europeans looking for scaling opportunities.

This edition of EYEC will be an opportunity to study Stockholm startup ecosystem, network with young entrepreneurs from across Europe and follow-up and update the work done around the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Europe. We are going to visit two major startup hubs in the city and meet major players in the tech industry.

The conference will also be a place to get familiarised and give support to the initiative undertaken by United Europe “The Rome Manifesto: Proposals by the Next Generation”. With the Rome Manifesto, Villa Vigoni and United Europe wish to give the next generation of Europeans a voice in the debate about the future of Europe. Young scholars and professionals from Germany, Italy and other European countries will work together to develop a common vision of where Europe should be heading. The Manifesto will be presented in Spring 2017 on an institutional level in Rome in occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. YES for Europe is one of the organisation contributing to the Manifesto.
